I don't see how divorce fic is anymore distasteful than anything else in fic, like non con or *shudders* mpreg. It's just a genre, like anything else. As long as they don't do the route you specified, it should be okay.
But, I already know there will probably be at least a few 'THE GIRLS ARE EVILLLL' divorce fics and I'm full aware of that. :p
