It's not just you. They have used a lot less of the classic rock music lately, as far as I can tell, and really they've relied on it less all season. I don't know if it was a conscious decision, if it was "well, we're writing the Christian-Judeo apocalypse, so Journey/Blue Oyster Cult/*insert band here* really doesn't cut it..." or if it was completely by accident and sort of happened as they wrote/filmed episodes, but there's definitely been less of it. I think it's hard to find a song to fit storylines when they get this far into theological or cerebral realms. I don't know if you've ever watched Buffy (you should, you should, it's beyond amazing *waves tiny flag and refrains from going totally psycho over it*), but whenever they headed towards their season's end apocalypses, the use of non-original music tended to fade away, and then if they DID choose to use a song at the very end, it had that much more impact.

Have I ever mentioned that I ramble a lot?

kaythen. :D

Um, so yes. I think you're right. But maybe they're saving a killer song for the finale. Or maybe they're just going to satisfy us by using Carry On. Because THEY MUST.
