It's definitely possible. And it's slightly better than the thought of Sam avoiding Dean for a couple of years and letting him believe he's dead - on the other hand, if the time jump already happened than Sam was in hell of two years and I don't wanna know what that would do to him :(
Will Sam be with Dean in the first episode? If not, I'm going to be pissed. Seriously, I want them back together right away! I like the idea of the first episode being kinda a mirror of the pilot, actually!
