Vidders? Anyone, anyone?

So I've spent most of my dad today watching old movies I made yeaarrs ago and reminiscing and crying then laughing and crying some more... anyhow, I then dled a ton of LOTR fanvids from the internetz that I thought had been deleted and was SO HAPPY to see that they weren't and, it got me in the mood to maybe try making a few of my own.

Do I have any fan vid makeres on here that would be willing to give me a few pointers? If not that, then what program do you use to make them? I've tried my hand at WMM, Magix and Adobe Premiere [god that is soooo complicated] but i'm interested in knowing what others have found that work for them.

Any help or advice people can give is much appreciated. :]

Well, if you asked me this first question, like, 2 years ago I would say THIS IS A FUCKING TOUGH SHIT D: But right now I think it's pretty easy, and it's more about your imagination that technic, you know? I mean, when you get the basic idea of how the editing works, it's all about thinking up new effects and ways of editing :)

Speaking about navigating - for me it's VERY simple. Not sure why, maybe because I'm a lefty - but I tried to work in AE ( AND YES THIS IS THE TOUGH SHIT D: ) and I found it pretty hard to work there, without even the part when you have to figure out how to import the episodes in there *__*

I firstopened Vegas like in October 2007. I wasn't that passionate about vidding then and there weren't that many tutorials and tips on how to get started, you know? So I kind of had to go in blind and figure out all the things myself. Plus, I had school which was in the way, so it took me almost 1,5 months to finish my first very crappy video. After that it took me sometime about a month to finish my second, which was kind of better, and I tried new things. Since then it was all about trying new things. Still is. I think you just have to try to create your first video, like a finished product just to get the idea of how to do it, you know? How to come all the way from the beginning to the end.

2 question: There's this thing in Vegas called TRIMMER. I know that some vidder don't even know how to use it, which for me was a HUGE surprise, because it was the first thing I figured out myself and I found it pretty easy and useful. Yes, it does work smoothly. But it depends on your PC. Video files with huge resolution, like Bluray copis or video files with huge resolution will work slower. Also, there's this thing as a preview window - when you try to watch your transition or different complicated effects it can, like, be veeeeery slow. But it's bearable. But then again, there's a lot of small things, you know? It is something for some viders and something different to others.

Do you, yourself, find everything easy to use?
Now? Yes. I the beginning? No. I'm still surprised I didn't stop in the beginning *__*

Are all the tools you need easily accessible or do you have to search for everything?
Well, you can look up online additional transitions or effects or color schemes. But I think in the beginning it's not necessarily for you. As for everything else - you have everything you need :)

Well, I think for now you have to find a program and open it. Look at it, try how it works. I'm sure you'll have more questions then lol Feel free to ask them ;)
