My little ol' review for Deathly Hallows. My wrists/fingers hurt for some reason so this probably won't be as long as I would have liked but I'll try to write more after I see it again.

First off this is from the POV of a major H/Hr shipper. Just letting ya'll know that there will be ~bias.

So overall I think that they did a really fantastic job of switching over from book to movie. There were certain scenes left out that I missed but most of them didn't really move the plot forward, I spose.

The cinematography was absolutely the most glorious thing EVER. It was so, so gorgeous; love all the locations they went to.

A few changes/things not included that I noticed were:

+ Yaxley and Snape meeting outside the manor wasn't there.
+ Dudley asking where Harry was going and if they're going to see each other again. I really REALLY disliked that this moment was gone and it was truly a redeeming moment for him in the book.
+ When Harry uses Expellariumus on Stanley Shunpike and THAT'S how they know it's the real Harry, not flying Hedwig - who should have been in the cage at Harry's feet.
+ Them all flying to different safe houses and then portkeying to the Burrow. You don't even see Tonks' parents in this.
+ Harry Ron & Hermione all having to try and find time to plan their getaway because Mrs. Weasley won't let them by themselves.
+ Harry polyjuicing as a relative of Ron's at the wedding so he looks like a Weasley. In this he's just Harry.
+ They didn't show just how nasty that Muriel chick was and there wasn't enough convo with Elphias.
+ That duplicate of Ron that was going to stay in bed at home - what creature was it with the little pox disease or whatever? - was never mentioned.
+ In the cafe the reason the death eaters know where they are is because of Harry saying Voldemort - which I don't think he says.
+ In Grimmauld Place Mad Eye's voice going "Did you kill Dumbledore?" or something like that. [Grey, dusty Dumbledore was awesome though.]
+ Hermione and Harry find the RAB, not Ron.
+ Harry finding half of Lily's letter with the picture.
+ Now this is one that I missed A LOT and am so upset they took it out - the part when Lupin comes to 'join them' and they have that huge argument because Tonks is pregnant and he's scared of what the child will be. Really missed that.
+ Kreacher telling exactly what happened to Regulus. I would have liked that to be in there. Harry giving Kreacher the locket, as well. I would have just liked more Kreacher.
+ They don't seemingly plan at ALL to go into the Ministry and next thing they're just in there.
+ I don't think Harry changed back to himself when confronting Umbridge - but of course that just made it all the more dramatic [The scene when they're apparating away from the ministry was awweessommmmeee]
+ Them hearing Griphook, Dean and Tonks father talking in the woods about what's happening at school.
+ When they go to Godric's Hollow, they arent polyjuiced and they're not using the invisibility cloak. I missed the part when they see his home and the sign didn't pop up.
+ Voldemort didn't come flying in Bathilda's house when they jumped out the window.
+ I can't remember if them listening to the radio was in part one or not but if it was then it wasn't in there.
+ Xenophilius saying he's going to go get Luna, not tea, and the trio's whole departure from the house was different - the death eaters pretty much destroyed the house in the movie.
+ Greyback didn't talk at all and they weren't thrown into a wagon with Dean and a few others. I don't think the Snatchers immediately knew that that was Harry either.
+ Wormtail didn't kill himself with is silver hand - another scene I missed.
+ Ollivander didn't look nearly sickly enough.
+ The abscence of Bill & Fleur at the end; people who hadn't read the books will have had no idea where they apparated to in the end.

So yeah that makes it seem like a lot but most of it wasn't all that missed.

I adored the chase scene while they were flying and when Hermione was reading The Beetle and The Bard the animation was completely brilliant.

So, the rather 'controversial' dance bit...I honestly don't see what the problem is. Harry was obviously trying to lighten the mood and wanted to help Hermione forget about it. It kinda seemed for a moment there they would kiss but they didn't so...Wish they would have.

That scene is probably the cutest, best scene in the series and I'm so glad they added it. It's definitely a new favorite.

I'm just really sick of all the bitching R/Hr shippers complaining that the dance was unneeded and stupid - really? Your ship is fucking CANON so let us H/Hr shippers have a bit of frosting on the cupcake before R/Hr finally get together and MARRIED. Can't let us have anything can they.
I do like that the writers gave us fanservice though for each ship - very kind.

And the whole scene when the locket broke open was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

And that fucking kiss. MY GOD. I'm not ashamed to say I thought that EXTREMELY sexy and I had no idea it'd be like that. They were pretty much naked and it was so INTENSE. ommmmmmggggggg unnnnnnnnnnnnnnnfffffffffffffffff Definitely another fave part.

I love Luna. <3

I wish we could have heard more about what was happening at Hogwarts, too.

I'm pretty sure Draco knew that that was Harry and just didn't say anything.

I'm so glad they added the bit in the beginning with Hermione obliviating her parents - Rowling didn't spend enough time on that in the books.

Edit: I forgot to add I loved the music in this one too - the music when Harry and Hermione visit Godric's Hollow was gorg; the choir and then the instrumental piece.

And the choice to exclude any sort of music whatsoever in the chase scene with the trio and the Snatchers was also a beyond brilliant choice - it worked really well.

It had a really different feel, overall, to all the rest of the movies but you know what? I really liked that. Since they weren't at school it wasn't as if they were children but adults. And I loved the pacing - how much dialogue we got this time around; usually they cut a lot of it out.

So, yes. Very much loved this, can't wait to see it again, AND SO EXCITED FOR PART TWO OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
