Writer's Block: Sheldon and Penny 4ever!

[Error: unknown template qotd]

HAH! I'm so in love with fanfiction it's not even funny;... alright, it is kind of funny. I used to be SUCH a bookworm - summer of 06 or 07 I read 100 books - but then I got into fanfiction later 07 and was hooked. I used to only read het but then I ventured to femmeslash then eventually - my now eternal love - slash; and that's all I read. I pretty much refuse to read het.

But yeah I can't see why people should have such a problem with fic - as long as it stays far behind the fourth wall and nothing is ever shown to the actors [specially if it's RPF] then I don't see why it's 'bad.' It's fun to write and entertaining to read - it gives you a chance to see characters you already love in different situations and scenarios. Plus, the slash element that you can basically pair anyone with someone else and make them sexx each other up. That's always nice. ;]
And some of the writers are AMAZING; even better than actual published writers. So when you find a well written fic in your pairing, PLUS your kinks, PLUS an awesome storyline? Yeah, it's like heaven.

Me + fanfiction = OTP [It's fighting candy for the lead.]

OT - Wow, your new layout is so pretty! :D

Fanfiction has ruined my life. But it's helped my wallet, lol. I used to read a book a week and would take biweekly trips to Barnes and Noble to stock up on tons of new books. Then fanfiction entered my life and I HAVE NOT PICKED UP A BOOK SINCE. o_O That was almost two years ago. Yikes.

Thank you! :D I've only had it for a month and I already want to change it. xD

For sure! I used to do that too - now I don't go to Barnes & Noble as often so I'm less tempted to buy books. There's some I've bought that I haven't even read yet - from like two years ago. :p I have favorite series, of course, that I do check up on, so those are the ones I'll buy. I also go go the library.
Because of school I have to have a few books to give me something to do during down time but outside of school I really don't read books at all. It's rather sad. BUT FANFICTION IS JUST SOOOO GOOD! xD

Oh my Godddd I love your icon! [That's one of my most fave manips ever.]

That's one of my most fave manips ever.

IKR?! They are just too adorable. ♥

[identity profile] alba17.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree 100%. I've been reading ONE book since Christmas and I love books. Because I mostly read fan fic! I also read newspapers though, so there's my reading fiber. Literally, haha.

Not in SPN fandom, but mesmerized by everyone's icons here. Suddenly I was like, hey, wait a minute, they're hugging there, that has got to be a manip. And wait, in that one they're...almost kissing!

Fanfiction is seriously SO addictive! And once I get out of one fandom I usually get in another and read that fanfiction.

xD They're awesome, aren't they? We got to make the eye-candy since they don't give us nearly enough. :p

[identity profile] heartsonwings.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I loveeeee fanfiction, I cannot possibly imagine NOT reading it lol. I don't get why people don't like it...maybe they're opposed to reading or something :)

[identity profile] gothic-elvis.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I can't either! It takes up so much of my life now that I don't know what I would do with the free hours.
LOL have you seen all that Diana Gabaldon fanfic shit? It's pretty frightening. If I were an author I would be flattered to have fanfic written about my characters.

[identity profile] heartsonwings.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I saw that :/ she seems terrible, I would write fanfic of her characters just to piss her off LOL

[identity profile] gothic-elvis.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmhm. :/

LOL! Or, better yet, write RPF of her and Anne Rice having sex since they seem to have such closely related views on the subject. :p

[identity profile] heartsonwings.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHA, that'd be the most fitting payback ever :P

[identity profile] lemon-lovely.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
OTP! Yes! We'll have to share though! lol

[identity profile] gothic-elvis.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm okay with that - half and half. ;] I just...I love both candy and fanfic; don't think I could ever choose one over the other.

[identity profile] lemon-lovely.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I can see where you would have trouble! lol

[identity profile] akintay.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. I used to read a lot more books before I got into fan fiction - and even more so since I discovered SPN because there are so many fics in this fandom And yeah, when it comes to fics I pretty much read exclusively slash fics :D

[identity profile] gothic-elvis.livejournal.com 2010-05-12 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Fics are just so fun! :D That and now that I like slash it's hard to find books with gay characters. :p All books I read have het pairings and it gets boring after awhile which is why I'm trying to find some authors who write 'slash.' But it's difficult.

You should look into Lynn Flewelling's "Nightrunner" series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightrunner_Series). I absolutely adore these books.

Ohhh I totally will; thank you! :D

You're welcome! Their relationship slowly develops and isn't the main part of the story, but there's plenty of deliciousness in there! ^_-

Sadly, it is hard to find published slash writers.
