I seriously want to bash so many heads in right now. Opinions? Fine. But most of the reasons I'm seeing for people not liking the premiere are so damn stupid that I want to vomit all over a cat.
I'm sorry that it didn't fit your perfect little fanfic world-canon but this is SHOW and what they make is CANON. It's not going to suit your ficcie needs.
I was serious in my last post when I said WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT? Sam and Dean to suddenly run into each other's arms then go off into the sunset? Lisa to suddenly explode and Ben just vanish? I don't get it, I really don't.
Either you had your hopes set too high or were expecting something that you should have already know would never happen.
Dean believed Sam to be dead for a YEAR; yes he loves him and obviously wants to be with him again - as shown in the first part - but then he realizes he has an obligation to Lisa and Ben and that if anything happened to them, he would be the one to blame and he wouldn't be able to live with himself.
Of course he loves Sam; OF COURSE HE DOES. DON'T EVEN QUESTION THAT. But I'd be a little peeved too if my brother let me believe he was dead for an entire year and then jumped back in my life and expected me to run towards him with open arms and a heart full of lovin'.
Lisa and Ben, well, Lisa's characterization is still terrible. I still hate that line where she calls it the best year of her life - yeah, okay, so the best year of your life was seeing a man you supposedly 'love' so heartbroken and dead inside and eating away to nothing? but nooooo as long as he acted like a good dad and was with Ben, it doesnt matter how he feels.
That was the only bit about the premiere I was pissed about. I would like Lisa even a LITTLE better if her character wasn't so unnecessary and fake.
Other than that, it was a pretty damn good ep. It left questions - enough that you wanted to know what'll happen next and not so much your head feels like it's spinning still after it's over.
I really just....WTF DID YOU PEOPLE WANT? Ugh. I'm sorry it's not EXACTLY like S1 - did you think it would be? Really? The boys have been through Hell and have been so traumatized that I'm surprised they still have any semblance of emotions at all.
What Sera did was try to give us a new pilot - almost like creating a second part to the series, and I really enjoyed that. But too many people went in there with pre-conceived expectations of it and were just waiting to be let down - and a lot were.
And now there's people that aren't even going to watch it after seeing all the reviews. To that I say :| Whatever; I really don't call you a fan if you don't even have the heart to watch and judge it yourself and are just going to go along with what everyone else says.
And I swear to GOD if I see one more person say they're really excited for ep 3 and can't wait for that ep [and might even skip ep 2] BECAUSE OF CASTIEL I am going to fucking KILL A PUPPY. God, the show is NOT CASTIEL. He is a SIDE CHARACTER. A side kick. A throwaway. jalejrlwekrtanhlwerjawer It doesn't help I hate the guy but now he's the reason that a lot of people are still going to even watch the show and it makes me sick. The show is SAM&DEAN not CASTIEL....and Sam and Dean.
I'll be honest and say before fandom I was fine with Cas - I liked his one liners and his obvious confusion with the world and Dean's jokes but now, I can't stand him. And it's because of fandom. Yes it's terrible to let people drag your view of a character down so far that you can't stand seeing him on screen anymore, but that's how it is. I wish when he had died in the finale he'd STAYED DEAD.
I'm just so fucking irritated with all of fandom right now and want to give it one giant whack in the face. I am not reading reviews this season - I can't. I'm already so down in the dumps from ONE EPISODE and I hate feeling this way. Ugh it's just heartbreaking how many people are giving up or unhappy with Show after ONE EPISODE.
Well, whatever, I say; more left for us that really do enjoy it for what it is and not for what the whiny fans want it to be.
